WHAT TO EXPECT

Upon your first visit, we will verify your insurance and give you initial paperwork to complete. Once this is done, you will meet with either Dr. Tammy or Dr. Li to review your health history and any current symptoms. If you’ve had any prior studies (such as MRIs, x-rays, or blood work) which are pertinent to your condition, please bring them along. The initial consultation will conclude with a recommendation of care, and any appropriate diagnostic studies will be ordered at this time. You can then expect to begin receiving care the same day.

It is our objective to reach a proper diagnosis and to get you better in the shortest time possible. Keep in mind that pain is progressive and generally the last symptom to arrive and the first to be resolved. In fact, a problem might have existed for years prior to you ever seeking care. We strive for results, and our treatment plan will include outlining exercises and stretches for you to do at home. We will also make recommendations for altered activities where appropriate, or even an evaluation of your car seat or sleeping position. Please take heed of these, as your health will improve more quickly with both you and your iHealth team working on it!

We are blessed to have a wonderful staff that is enthusiastic and committed to helping you heal fully!

PHYSICAL THERAPY

By definition, physical therapy is “the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery.”

Physical Therapy

At iHealth we are wholeheartedly dedicated to the rehabilitation of every patient. Whether a patient has already had surgery, is waiting to have surgery, or would prefer to avoid surgery all together, we want to get the patient back up and running as soon as possible! Every patient receives a consultation and evaluation with our physical therapist and then together with the doctors a plan of attack is established. There will be stretching along with strengthening exercises. To aid in the treatment, we utilize therapeutic ultrasound and muscle stimulation to fatigue muscles and to increase circulation to the tissues, causing a decrease in inflammation. No two patients are the same, so therapy is also different for every patient.

Within the realm of physical therapy we have many different tools in our bag of tricks! This is again dependent on the needs of the patient.

FREQUENCY SPECIFIC MICROCURRENT (FSM)

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM)

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) is a therapy that helps a patient to heal faster and more complete. The technology is microcurrent that runs at the same frequency as your own body, so you really don’t feel it.

Every tissue responds to a different frequency. After many years of research, numbers have been coordinated to different tissues. We can then manipulate what we want to do with the tissues on the other channel. Through the treatment we can even get rid of shingles!

Client Testimonial

“I became a patient of Doctor Tammy Woller in February of 2014. I received a diagnosis of breast cancer for the second time in six years. Within a week of my double mastectomy, Dr. Tammy started FSM treatment. The drains came out early and my surgeon was amazed at how quickly I was healing. I started taking Tamoxifen after surgery and within six weeks started having complications with urological and gynecological issues. Three surgeries in seven months and a year of urological and gynecological issues have weakened my body. The FSM treatment got me through the surgeries and the complications. I continue to receive FSM treatment weekly for strength and stamina issues. (Dr. Tammy and I have a saying: “She patches me up on Saturday so I can get through the week.”) I often think where would I be if it weren’t for Dr. Tammy and the FSM treatment. I am grateful and thankful for Dr. Tammy and FSM.” — Lori Shultz

CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic

By definition, chiropractic adjustment “is a system of complementary medicine based on the diagnosis and manipulative treatment of misalignments of the joints, especially those of the spinal column, which are held to cause other disorders by affecting the nerves, muscles, and organs.” At times there will be an audible “popping” noise that goes with the adjustment. This is simply gaping of the joint when the joint has come to full tension. There are endorphins that are released so there is an overall “good” feeling. At iHealth we hold the adjustment in high regard and only patients who are well-suited to being adjusted are treated in this way. Patients are carefully screened via x-rays and other diagnostic tests to ensure the adjustment will benefit the patient. Every joint can be adjusted, whether it is in the fingers, wrist, toes, or back.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a non-invasive therapeutic method that treats the person as a whole by rebalancing the body with needles as stimulations. It originated in China about 5,000 years ago and has been used by nearly one-third of the world (countries throughout Asia, Europe, and South America) as a primary care system and in many more countries as non-conventional therapy for 200 years.

Acupuncture works based on the theory of meridians where Qi (pronounced chee and meaning vital energy) and blood circulate in the body through a system of channels (the meridians) which connect the internal organs with external organs and tissues.

By stimulating certain points (called acupoints) of the body surface where meridians reach, the flow of Qi and blood can be regulated and diseases treated with very few side effects.

WEIGHT LOSS & NUTRITIONAL CONSULTATION

In the healing process there are many things to consider, nutrition being a key component. Frequently we recommend a patient to go on a detoxification diet or elimination diet. The food that we put into our mouth has a huge effect on our healing; many times there are hidden allergies or sensitivities that can prevent healing. We work with many athletes and help to finesse their diet plans to best achieve their goals.

CHINESE HERBS

We have been very blessed to have experts in this field! Doctor Li and Dr. Libing have both been trained in China and have an incredible working knowledge of the philosophy and the language. They have worked in the hospitals and clinics there. We do a combination of herbs, acupuncture, cupping, massage, tuina, and scraping. These techniques have been working successfully for thousands of years. Diagnosis is an important key and from there things just fall into place and the healing process can start.

CERVICAL AND LUMBAR TRACTION (IDD)

Many patients have experienced tingling and numbness into their legs or arms. This is a sign of nerve impingement. Through gentle spinal traction the pressure can be relieved and the problems can be resolved. This is also helpful in the case of “restless leg syndrome”. Here at iHealth we have two machines that create this particular traction. The therapy is very gentle and although results maybe slow, the long-term effect is substantial. We do realize that many symptoms have been “brewing” for years and will not be a quick fix. We like to see a patient progressing as quickly as possible.
